Jamdani weave is a traditional technique of fabric weaving, primarily known from Bangladesh and West Bengal, India. It's a highly skilled form of handloom weaving that is recognized for its intricate patterns woven onto fine muslin. The term "Jamdani" is of Persian origin, with "Jam" meaning flower and "Dani" meaning vase or container, indicative of the floral patterns that are commonly featured in these weaves.
Due to the time and skill required to produce Jamdani, it is considered one of the most advanced hand weaving techniques in the world and has been declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
