These beautiful Zari handbeaded and hand-embroided decorations are made by artisans in New Dehli, India. Material is stretched onto a frame and about fifty patterns are stencilled onto this material. Each pattern is intricately handsewen and handbeaded by an artisan. The material is then placed in the sun as this prevents the gold adornment from tarnishing. Another artisan then carefully cuts out the adorned patterns and completes the making of the decorations by sewing and decorating the edges. Fair Go Trading purchases these decorations via Tara, a Fair Trade, non profit organization which supports many poor artisans in Northern India.
